Illness and Exclusion Guidelines

These are the exclusion guidelines that we follow as advised by the Public Health agency. Families are advised that it is best not to send in a child who is unwell in any way to ensure the health and wellbeing of other children and practitioners in the setting. We do not allow children into the setting if Paracetamol has been administered.

For children who have a temperature, please keep them home a minimum of 24 hours after the last elevated temp.
For children who have vomiting or diarrhoea, please keep children home for 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting

Please note that we can only administer medicines that have been prescribed by a doctor, in their original containers with the child's name and the dosage clearly displayed. Parents must give prior written consent for us to administer medication. Please ask your key person for a form if the need arises. We can give Paracetamol in emergency cases only whilst awaiting for a parent/carers arrival.
Any other illnesses or diseases that are not listed on this list can be checked with a member of staff.
